SummaryThe Basic EMT has the responsibility and accountability for assuring the delivery of quality pre‑hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and following the standards of care as established by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security – EMS Division and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).
EducationHigh school diploma or GED required.
Licensure & CertificationMeets Indiana State EMT‑Basic guidelines and holds a valid state EMT‑Basic certification. CPR required. Valid driver’s license.
Other QualificationsOne year experience preferred. Must meet insurability requirements under Parkview Health vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "driver exclusion," and/or other insurance modifications and/or high‑risk classification. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Meets the physical requirements of the position, including the ability to lift 100 pounds and assist with 300 pounds.
