Direct Support Professional Weekend Shift

Base pay range: $15.25/hr - $15.25/hr

We are hiring Direct Support Professionals to perform a variety of tasks related to the care of adult clients living in the newly built Damar Villages. Duties include client supervision and care, crisis management, promoting appropriate social behaviors, and supporting clients in achieving their maximum potential.

• Assist with the development of appropriate daily living, self-help and social skills
• Help maintain a safe and healthy environment
• Provide support to clients and their community-based goals
• Respond to and manage crisis situations

• Starting pay: $15.25 per hour or more for experience

• Be at least 18 to work in our Community Living and Support Services program
• Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED
• Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license and good driving record
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Pass background screening as required by Damar
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal offenses

Physical
:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35 lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard;

to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
