Overview
Life Care provides outpatient adult HIV treatment and prevention services in a multidisciplinary clinical setting located at Methodist Hospital. Willingness to work with a diverse patient population, including non‑English speaking patients, those with substance use, mental illness, etc.
Shift & Hours- Full Time
- Day Shift
- 36 Hours per week
- Monday 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m Telegraph ;
Tuesday–Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.;
Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. - No weekends
- No holidays
Under the supervision of the designated supervisor and assigned physician, perform duties associated with direct patient care and clinical direction to provide patient care in accordance with organization(has standards. Assure completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, ensure smooth patient flow, perform general lab work, instruct patients regarding procedures, treatments, and needs,-& and ensure medical orders and referrals are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform registration and scheduling activities per organizational and departmental procedures. Maintain EMR files and perform general front‑office functions as needed.
May perform computerized physician order entry if directed by the assigned physician. May precept current MA team members or MA Externs as requested by leadership.
Qualifications- AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required. denominator&license advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- New hires and promotions after October 5, 2025, will require graduation from a Medical Assistant program. Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required.
- TB validated (to administer or read) or validation obtained within 6 months of hire may be required.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
- Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use, and Standard Work Programs and concepts within 6 months of hire.
- Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures, and knowledge of insurance plans and third‑party payers.
- Ability to master standard clinical competencies per current Clinical policy, Point of Care and Skills Competency checklists.
- Requires basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills.
