Pediatric CVOR Registered Nurse Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
First-time applicants are welcome.
Certification and LicensingRequired certifications: BLS.
Local candidates are accepted.
Pending licenses are not accepted; an in-state license and required certifications must be current and available at submission.
Work Schedule and HoursMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
- 8 and 10-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per workweek.
- Three 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per workweek.
- Four 12-hour shifts totaling 48 hours per workweek.
Special Requirements Preferred Skills
- Case cart management
- Scrubbing
- Crash cart handling
- Fontan procedure knowledge
- Ventricular assist device (VAD) experience
- Arterial switch procedure familiarity
Pediatric cardiac and trauma experience are highly beneficial.
Required Skills- Basic instruments
- Laparoscopic instruments
- Sternal saws
- Midas drills
- Basic power equipment
- DaVinci system
- Censitrac system
Travelers should be prepared to take CVOR call.
Primary focus will be on CVOR cases; however, if no CVOR cases are available or if CVOR cases conclude early, assistance in the main OR will be expected.
