Farmstead Inn & Conference Center is currently seeking a part-time 2nd/3rd Shift Front Desk Agent. The Front Desk Agent checks guests in and out of their hotel room and ensures customers have a satisfying and enjoyable stay.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage online, phone and in-person room reservations
  • Welcome guests, check them in, distribute room keys and explain the hotel’s amenities
  • Take payment from customers
  • Respond to guests’ issues and complaints in a friendly, timely manner
  • Explain local amenities and attractions to guests
  • Work with other staff members to ensure that all guest rooms meet hotel standards and accommodate any special client needs
  • Check out guests and collaborate with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully‑furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
  • Balance cash drawer on a shift basis
  • Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
  • Responsible to complete shift checklist and shift specific responsibilities.
  • Complete additional tasks including, but not limited to: walk through facility to ensure commons areas are tidy and maintained, policy guests for proper conduct, etc., fold laundry during peak times
  • Transport hotel staff to and from destinations, if necessary
Skills and

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • One year of work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist or similar role
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor
  • Availability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Experience with hotel reservations software
  • Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking and Trip Advisor
  • Demonstrate a positive customer service attitude
  • Demonstrate a drive to exceed customer’s expectations
  • Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
  • Collaborate and cooperate with team members
