Job Details

  • Compensation: $9 per hour plus $5‑$10 per hour in tips.
  • Work Schedule: AM/PM shift times.
  • Benefits: Accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine benefits, and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.

Summary

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The Guest Service Associate is responsible for parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner and assisting guests with luggage, including delivery and pick up of guest luggage (where applicable) during arrival and departure.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet.
  • Use a salutation of the day and practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette.
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously; assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed; opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
  • Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries; provides information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area; shuttles guests to approved locations.
  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures; issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys.
  • Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information (key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, claim check receipt).
  • Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.: Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state of employment.

Work Experience: One month related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

Skills:

  • Read and write standard English.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees.
  • Perform basic arithmetic with 10’s and 100’s using U.S. money units.
  • Understand 24‑hour and military time systems.
  • Convert rates applicable to time passed.
  • Operate a manual transmission (highly desirable).
  • Parallel park.

Scope

  • Authority To Act: Job is fairly routine. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment affect the department’s efficiency.
  • Budget Responsibility: Control over available resources only.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, sit or stand for extended periods, run, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Lifting Requirements

Exert up to 100 lbs occasionally; up to 50 lbs frequently; up to 20 lbs constantly.

Working Environment

Work is mostly outdoors for extended periods, including the entire shift. Employees are subject to extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions may be provided but is not guaranteed.

Travel

Travel of up to 5% may be required.
