The General Manager leads day-to-day operations at a property, ensuring outstanding guest satisfaction, safe and compliant operations, strong financial performance, and a high-performing team. This role combines leadership, operational oversight, and guest-centric focus.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all hotel operations, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage (if applicable).
- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, manage costs, monitor KPIs (RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, GOP) and take corrective action as needed.
- Ensure guest rooms and public areas meet brand standards for cleanliness, maintenance, and ambiance.
- Lead recruiting, training, coaching and performance management of staff; promote a service-oriented team culture.
- Handle guest complaints and escalations professionally and timely; maintain strong guest relations and reputation.
- Maintain vendor/supplier relationships, manage procurement, and collaborate with local stakeholders and ownership.
- Oversee compliance with brand requirements, quality assurance audits, safety regulations, and licensing.
- Guest satisfaction scores and online reviews meet or exceed brand targets
- Financial performance aligned with budget (revenue, expense control, flow-through)
- Brand audit/quality assurance results show compliance with minimal findings
- Staff turnover is managed and team morale is high
- Proven hotel management experience—preferably in select-service environment with national brand
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of hotel PMS, revenue management basics, and financial reporting
- Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as required
Physical Requirements
- Full-time, exempt role. Schedule will vary by property needs.
- Standing and walking throughout property, computer work, occasional lifting up to ~30 lbs
