Location: Indianapolis, IN

Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for an AI Process Automation Engineer. They are expanding their automation capabilities and doubling down on AI. Your mission is to map business processes, eliminate double entry, and automate decision steps using tools like n8n and Copilot Studio, integrated with Salesforce and our internal systems. You’ll build workflows that trigger on schedules, webhooks, and events;
wire in LLM-powered bots (Azure OpenAI) to make decisions based on our SOPs and policy documents; and create custom connectors where needed. You’ll be the point person to find out high-impact automations now—while helping level up their .NET team as we embrace AI-first processes.
- Build robust workflows in n8n and Copilot Studio, building triggers (webhooks, schedules, API calls) and 400+ connectors.
- Integrate Salesforce with internal systems and eliminate manual hand-offs/double entry.
- Create custom connectors/webhooks when out-of-the-box isn’t available.
- Build Azure OpenAI-backed bots that apply SOPs/policies to make decisions, with clear guardrails, confidence thresholds, and human-in-the-loop fallbacks.
- Structure and ingest documentation so AI can use it (e.g., policy/SOP prompts, context windows, parameters).
- Implement observability: logging, alerting, retries/idempotency, rate-limit handling, secrets management.
- Ensure data privacy and compliance for PII; design exception flows that route edge cases to humans.
- Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize high-ROI automations; document workflows and decisions.
- Mentor teammates; share patterns, reusable components, and best practices.
- 4–7+ years in software/automation; 2+ years building production workflows in n8n/Copilot Studio/Make/Power Automate or similar.
- Proven experience shipping LLM-powered bots (Azure OpenAI preferred), including prompt design, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
- Strong API integration skills; ability to create custom connectors, handle auth (OAuth, API keys), and secure secrets.
- Solid grounding in .NET (C#) and Python; knows when to code vs configure.
- Experience with reliability engineering: retries, idempotency, monitoring/alerts.
- Track record of partnering with business teams, delivering measurable outcomes, and mentoring others.
- 1–3 years as a developer in C#/.NET and/or Python.
- Comfortable with REST APIs, webhooks, and basic auth flows.
- Demonstrated self-learning: personal projects with n8n/Copilot Studio and LLMs; can show examples or discuss tradeoffs.
- Curious, scrappy builder who can learn tools fast and ship reliable workflows with guidance.
- Robust Health Insurance
- 401(k) plan
- PTO accrual
- Paid holidays
- Excellent cash-based referral program
