What You’ll Be Doing

You will work in Cloud Engineering, focusing on global technical operations of cloud computing for Lilly. You will collaborate with the cloud foundation team to shape cloud services strategy, ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our cloud services. You will work with the latest public cloud IaaS services and drive improvements in infrastructure availability and reliability through repeatable patterns, new architectural designs, and enhanced observability to prevent outages and increase value across the organization.

  • Be Bold – Drive Infrastructure Operations to never fix the same problem twice through AI Ops, event‑driven automation, and robust observability.
  • Be Fast – Accelerate initiatives in Infrastructure AI Ops automation, cloud IaaS management, and cloud infrastructure as code to enable critical business projects.
  • Be Proactive – Transform operations processes using proactive, predictive, and automated AI & Observability capabilities.
  • Be Your Best – Bring high learning agility and infrastructure operations engineering skills to enable Lilly’s technology strategy and accelerate the AI Ops journey.
What You Should Bring
  • Cloud Platform Expertise:Advanced proficiency in AWS operations, deployment, scaling, and management of AWS Cloud native services. Experience with multi‑cloud environments is highly valued.
  • Automation & Scripting:Strong skills in Python, Bash, Power Shell, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation). Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Security & Compliance:Deep understanding of cloud security principles and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Monitoring & Performance Optimization:Experience with monitoring tools, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Networking & Virtualization:Solid grasp of networking concepts, virtual networks, VPNs, SDN, and NFV.
  • Dev Ops & CI/CD:Familiarity with Dev Ops methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. Git Hub experience preferred.
  • Problem‑Solving & Analytical

    Skills:

    Strong troubleshooting abilities and a track record of resolving complex technical issues.
  • Collaboration & Communication:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working across global teams and collaborating with customers.
  • Operational Excellence:Experience in ITSM principles, including incident, change, and service request management, after‑hours support, and comprehensive documentation for cloud operations.
  • Continuous Improvement:Commitment to identifying and implementing process and toolset enhancements to boost efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced Technical Support:Ability to provide high‑level support for complex issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years in infrastructure management, focusing on multi‑cloud environments, including 3+ years in the AWS cloud platform.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing operations of a global large‑scale infrastructure service.
Additional Information
  • Hybrid role (minimum 3 days in the office) located in Indianapolis, IN (relocation required).
  • Expected US business hours with after‑hours support for evening and weekends.
  • Less than 10% travel.
