As we continue enabling advanced manufacturing capabilities, we are seeking a Sr. Principal Infrastructure Architect to provide strategic technology leadership across Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing (IPM), Indianapolis Device Assembly & Packaging (IDAP), and Indianapolis Device Manufacturing (IDM).

What You'll Be Doing

The Sr. Principal Infrastructure Architect will design and govern IT infrastructure supporting GMP‑regulated manufacturing execution, laboratory, and quality systems. You will ensure resilient, secure, and compliant platforms that enable operational reliability and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure architecture roadmaps for IPM, IDAP, and IDM, aligned with Tech@Lilly strategy.
  • Lead infrastructure readiness for the transition from PMX to Pharma Suite and other key MES modernization initiatives.
  • Architect secure, validated networking, compute, storage, and virtualization platforms supporting MES, EWM/WMS, Quality Systems, and S95 Level 2+ solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex operational and cybersecurity challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP, CSV, and data integrity standards.
  • Lead major infrastructure deployments and modernization programs across all three manufacturing areas.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, automation, cybersecurity, and global architecture teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and executive influence skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a proven track record of solving complex operational technology challenges.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, operationally critical environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting IT infrastructure in GMP‑regulated pharmaceutical or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • 2+ years of working with MES, EWM/WMS, DCS, Industrial IoT networks, and S95 Level 2+ architectures.
Additional Skills & Preferences
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑site infrastructure programs and influence executive technology decisions.
  • Expertise in secure architecture design, disaster recovery, and operational resiliency.
  • Experience supporting parenteral and/or device manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Pharma Suite, PMX, SAP EWM, or other MES/WMS platforms.
  • Certifications or networking/security credentials preferred.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud models, edge technology, and modern cybersecurity controls.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build capability within teams through coaching and thought leadership.
