Description of Duties:
The Principal Developer is responsible for providing technical leadership and setting solution design direction across multiple software development initiatives. Duties include designing, building, and supporting applications end-to-end using Microsoft technologies such as Azure, .NET, SQL, and Angular, while maintaining hands‑on involvement in development. The position also leads Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure support, and works closely with agency IT teams in enterprise or multi‑agency environments.
Additionally, the role serves as a technical liaison to stakeholders, leading technical discussions and translating complex concepts into clear, non‑technical guidance.

Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated ownership of technical direction and solution design.
- Prior experience operating in a Lead or Principal Developer capacity, serving as a technical authority across projects.
- Deep hands‑on experience with Microsoft technologies, including Azure Cloud, Azure Dev Ops, .NET, and SQL.
- Front‑end development experience with Angular.
- Strong Dev Ops experience, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure support, and collaboration with agency IT teams.
- Proven ability to design, build, and support new applications and projects end to end.
- Ability to act as a technical liaison with agency stakeholders, clearly communicating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Comfortable leading technical discussions while remaining hands‑on with code.
- Experience working in enterprise or multi‑agency environments preferred.
- Azure certifications (AZ‑204, AZ‑400, or similar) are a plus.
- Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks.
- Able to work in a collaborative team environment to obtain the best results.

Working Schedule and Travel:
Remote
Part‑time initially; approximately half‑time through June with potential extension into 2027.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
