Position OverviewThe Senior Data Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data within a large-scale health information system. This role focuses on validating, standardizing, and transforming data submitted by external partners into reliable, actionable insights that support program operations and reporting.
Responsibilities- Analyze and assess data quality across multiple internal and external data sources.
- Develop, execute, and maintain data validation, transformation, and cleansing routines using SQL/T-SQL and related tools.
- Identify, document, and resolve data anomalies, inconsistencies, and integrity issues.
- Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to define, implement, and enforce data quality rules and standards.
- Design and maintain data quality dashboards, scorecards, and exception reports.
- Support data governance initiatives, including metadata documentation and data lineage mapping.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring data issues and recommend process or system improvements.
- Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data meets operational and reporting needs.
- Develop performance metrics and reports to track data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and external partner compliance.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and visualizations for leadership that communicate trends, patterns, and potential risks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a data quality, data analysis, or data governance role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL/T-SQL for querying, analyzing, and troubleshooting large datasets.
- Experience working in cloud-based analytics or data environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, or equivalent platforms).
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.
- Experience using reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of health data exchange standards and messaging formats.
- Experience applying data quality frameworks, validation rules, and record‑matching techniques.
- Exposure to public sector, healthcare, or clinical data exchange environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
