The Indiana Office of Technology provides cost-effective, secure, consistent, reliable enterprise-technology services to our partner agencies so that they can better serve our mutual customer, the Hoosier taxpayer. IOT will also act as the technology and solution enabler for the State, helping its partner agencies achieve business objectives and innovation.
The Indiana Office of Technology is the centralized infrastructure agency for state government as well as the hub of enterprise applications, cybersecurity, compliance, and shared services.
Role Overview:
The Technology Architect Team Manager works collaboratively within IOT, with partner agencies, and with vendors to ensure sustainable services, to coordinate and orchestrate capabilities, to optimize solution delivery, and to advance the expansion of digital government. This role is key to helping IOT in its efforts to deliver secure, reliable, and cost-effective solutions as well as shaping the future of how the operations of state government are facilitated.
This role will be managing a great group of Technology Architects at IOT that includes our Cloud and other Domain Architects.
This position is onsite at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $93,002 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
The essential functions of this role are:
- Assist the IT Director in developing current and long-range direction of technology in accordance with the direction of the agency.
- Assist the IT Director in setting policies and procedures, technical standards and methods and priorities for information systems activities.
- Assume director’s responsibilities in their absence.
- Dispense technical advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures.
- Analyze new technologies and make recommendations.
- Assist the executive team in the budgeting process.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Monitor time and dollar expenditures to ensure projects and budgets meet established targets.
- Represent the agency’s information technology division at events and meetings.
- Assist in the budgeting process with agency senior management for the information technology division.
- Coordinates, reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations related to requests for proposals of information technology/security projects, ensuring that proposals comply with technical specifications and other IT strategic objectives.
- Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
- Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
