Role Overview:

The position of IT Deputy Director will lead the multiple development teams in Salesforce, Mule Soft, Dotnet and ERMS (Electronic Record Management System) platforms. This position is critical for ensuring the strategic direction, development, and management of complex information systems within the agency’s Information Technology Division. This role supports the IT Director in shaping both current and long-range technology strategies, establishing technical standards, and setting priorities for information systems activities.

The Architect provides technical leadership, guidance, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, and may assume director responsibilities when needed.

Location:

This position is with INDOT’s Central Office in Indianapolis.

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

• Assist the IT Director in developing current and long-range direction of technology in accordance with the direction of the agency.
• Assist the IT Director in setting policies and procedures, technical standards and methods and priorities for information systems activities.
• Assume director’s responsibilities in their absence.
• Dispense technical advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures.
• Analyze new technologies and make recommendations.
• Assist the executive team in the budgeting process
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
• Monitor time and dollar expenditures to ensure projects and budgets meet established targets
• Represent the agency’s information technology division at events and meetings
• Assist in the budgeting process with agency senior management for the information technology division.
• Coordinates, reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations related to requests for proposals of information technology/security projects, ensuring that proposals comply with technical specifications and other IT strategic objectives.
