Job Summary

Flora Legal Group is an Indianapolis-based immigration firm committed to serving the immigrant community. We are seeking an Associate Attorney to handle deportation defense on behalf of our clients in removal proceedings before the immigration court. This position offers hands‑on training and mentorship in a fast‑paced, client‑centered practice. We are looking for a strong advocate with excellent communication skills, eager to build courtroom experience and grow within a collaborative legal team.

No prior immigration experience is required; however, our ideal candidate has a heart and passion to serve our immigrant population. Fluency in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represents clients in immigration proceedings before the Immigration Court;
  • Prepares for and attends hearing preparation appointments with clients;
  • Communicates with clients regarding case processing and procedural issues;
  • Collaborates with senior attorneys to develop legal strategy for assigned cases;
  • Reviews and assists in drafting legal documents and filings;
  • Analyzes and evaluates key immigration legal issues;
  • Provides support for client consults as needed;
  • Enters information in case management software to include notes, client correspondence, hours utilized, and matter updates;
  • Time tracks hours worked in accordance with the firm’s time tracking policy.
Qualifications
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing to apply;
    Juris Doctorate required;
  • At least 2+ years of litigation/prosecution experience preferred but not required;
  • Strong interest in learning immigration law;
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large case load;
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred but not required (reading, writing, speaking);
  • Have excellent communication skills and enjoy helping underserved populations;
  • Be self‑motivated, intellectually curious, and possess a strong work ethic;
  • Enjoy continuous learning in a fast‑paced and friendly work environment.

We are open to hiring applicants who are willing to relocate to the greater Indianapolis, IN area. Relocation fees are negotiable.
