Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bilingual Paralegal (English and Spanish) to join our dynamic family law firm. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to our family law attorneys, ensuring the efficient and effective management of cases. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Specifically, Dissolution of Marriage, Paternity, Child Support, Father’s Rights, Custody & Child Support Modifications, Step-Parent & Second Parent Adoptions, Name & Gender Marker Changes, Guardian ships, Pre & Post Nuptial Agreements, Contract review, Estate Planning, and LGBTQ+ matters. Our Attorneys serve as Mediators, Parenting Coordinators, and Guardian Ad Litems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management:
    • Assist attorneys in managing family law cases from inception to resolution.
    • Prepare and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and discovery requests.
    • Maintain case files and ensure all documents are organized and up-to-date.
    • Coordinate and schedule client meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
    • Utilization of case management software, maintain deadlines and ensure follow up.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering questions.
    • Conduct client interviews and gather necessary information for case preparation.
    • Assist clients with completing forms and understanding legal procedures.
    • Assist non-Spanish speaking attorneys with client meetings and court proceedings.
  • Legal Research and Drafting:
    • Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law and statutes.
    • Draft legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings under attorney supervision.
    • Summarize depositions, interrogatories, and testimony.
    • Translate documents, pleadings, and court orders to Spanish for clients.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Manage attorney calendars and ensure timely submission of court documents.
    • Prepare exhibits for court proceedings.
    • Handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
    • Attendance at fairs, festivals, and events representing the brand.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on family law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
