In this role, The Associate Director will ensure the reliable supply of medicines through effective and efficient supply chain processes. Reporting To the Senior Director of API External Manufacturing Supply Chain and External Sourcing, the Associate Director will be responsible for both Supply Chain Performance and Operational Excellence of supply chains in APIEM aligned by manufacturing platforms (Large Molecule, Small Molecule and Tides).
The Associate Director for Supply Chain APIEM will provide operational leadership to a team responsible for overseeing the operation of the supply chain organization, including Supply Planning, Warehousing, Shipping, Logistics and Supply Chain Operations for Lilly’s API External Manufacturing Organization.
The Associate Director for Supply Chain APIEM will manage a team that supports the set up and establishment of new supply chains and leads supply chain related project activity.
Responsibilities:- Provide Supply Chain Subject Matter Expertise to the organization.
- Develop and hire a team of supply chain professionals to support the growth of the APIEM supply chain organization.
- Implement a robust supply planning team within the APIEM SC Organization.
- Support the documentation, standardization of processes and procedures with the APIEM Supply Chain Organization
- Develop and grow supply chain knowledge to be consistent with APIEM business needs.
- Provide training, support, and development for all staff within the APIEM Supply Chain Organization.
- Attend Appropriate Governance Forums in Both APIEM, and Networks (E.G. Global S&OP, Molecule S&OP, Local S&OP)
- Build working relationships with central functions, Global Supply Chain, Global Logistics, SAP Teams, Finance, Procurement, Tax, Import/Export Compliance.
- Build working relationships with partner sites, both internally and externally to ensure alignment with corporate and APIEM initiatives.
- Review And /Or Approve Documents in APIEM Quality Systems as supply chain SME or delegate of Supply Chain Senior Director. (e.g. deviations, change controls, procedures, purchase orders in line with approved ats level)
- Provide Leadership to the work group / team to attain departmental and site objectives for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.
- Partner with warehouse operations to ensure robust inventory management process is developed and maintained for APIEM supplied materials.
Partner with GSC to ensure robust supply planning processes are implemented and maintained for APIEM supply materials. - Participate in the development and deployment of strategies associated with continuous improvement, corrective and preventative actions, 6 sigma, and lean methodologies.
- Create, deploy, and comply with GMP Procedures.
- Meet appropriate goals for performance improvements as defined by area leadership
- Drives accountability for results, follow and execute policies and procedures impacting supply chain activities.
- Responsible for acting on behalf of APIEM supply chain to integrate with the cross functional team to gain an understanding of site operations and predict or respond to potential issues and identify improvement opportunities that arise all other duties.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science or Engineering field
- 5+ Years’ Experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
- Significant Experience in Supply Chain or related roles within a manufacturing site
- Previous supervisory experience
- SAP ECC and EWM Experience
- APICS Certification (Preferred)
- OSSCE Class A Experience
- Solid Understanding of Quality and Corporate Policies
- External Manufacturing Experience
- Good Communication skills and appreciation of cultural diversity, high learning agility, strong leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, capability to work in a virtual and sophisticated environment
