The Role We Want You For

Manage the organization and direction of project construction activities and oversee site management, including supervision of client contractors, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, procurement, and finance. Ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget, and that clients are satisfied. This key leader for Clayco’s Field Operations will oversee construction projects valued at $100M - $500M or more.

The Specifics of the Role

Organize and direct all on-site construction activities; serve as the primary contact for field activities.

Ensure construction complies with design and specifications, and is completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

Manage site operations, including subcontractors, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, procurement, finance, and workforce management. Maintain detailed daily reports.

Develop and execute project plans including automation, environmental compliance, safety, survey, staffing, subcontracting, labor, and construction execution plans.

Implement Clayco’s safety, security, housekeeping, and fire protection programs, ensuring adherence to safety codes.

Ensure the field team is qualified and effectively utilized.

Establish and manage construction schedules, methods, staffing, material, and equipment needs.

Monitor project performance, ensuring adherence to quality and schedule standards.

Coordinate with the project team to meet engineering designs and specifications.

Implement Clayco policies and procedures on-site.

Develop site procedures aligned with company standards and project conditions.

Collaborate with the team to ensure labor harmony and effective client communication.

Maintain relationships with other departments and develop security and safety plans.

Participate in contract negotiations and subcontractor management.

Develop and oversee training programs for construction personnel.

Ensure safety compliance and community relations plans are in place.

Manage permits, licenses, and reporting requirements.

Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement processes.

Coordinate assignment of supervisory staff with the Field Operations Manager.

Support superintendents, review schedules, document issues, and ensure subcontractor requests are addressed.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant experience.
20-25 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility.
Knowledge of construction methods, systems, and utility management, including high voltage and BIM coordination.
Experience with mission-critical data center projects preferred.
OSHA 30 certification required.
Physical ability to walk the site, climb ladders, and lift objects over 50 lbs.
