Position OverviewThe Indy Arts Council is seeking a Program Manager to guide the operations of its grant programs and serve the Indy arts community. This position provides direct outreach to artists and arts organizations to recruit and educate applicants around grant program opportunities. They are the primary connection for grant contacts of grantee organizations. They also frequently collaborate with Artist Services staff to execute cross-departmental programs.
This role reports to the Director of Community Impact and Strategic Investment and is a crucial part of the Community Investment and Impact team.
- Implements and manages all activities relating to the department’s annual grantmaking portfolio that serves 100+ nonprofit organizations and dozens of individual artists, including maintaining IAC’s online grant management system.
- Counsels artists and arts organizations on Arts Council grant applications; conducts preliminary review of applications, hosts informational workshops, and works in partnership with the Director of Community Impact and Strategic Investment on all final grant award reporting.
- Coordinates panel reviews, including orientation, communications, reviewing application materials, panel moderation, and development of materials for grant recommendations.
- Serves as staff support for the Grants Committee of the Board.
- Advises the Director of Community Impact and Strategic Investment on all issues regarding grants, organization services, and field support.
- Supports the Director of Community Impact and Strategic Investment to implement organizational services, including professional development workshops and Arts Leader gatherings.
- Collaborates with the Artist Services Manager to implement artist professional development opportunities like Playbook and On-Ramp, and coordinates communication of exhibition details with DeHaan, Creative Renewal, and Art & Soul artists.
- Stewards the Art & Soul program, including artist selection, production partnerships, marketing collaboration, and activation grants.
- Works with the Marketing Director to derive and document compelling and persuasive stories resulting from our grant-making. Help systemize and regularize story collection and dissemination to the general public, donors, and prospects.

- The salary for this role is $54,500 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package valued at over $12,000.
