Maintenance Technician – Rotating Shifts

PBNA $32.00 / hour

Position is responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer’s specifications. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions to make repairs or adjustments as needed. Must have own hand tools. The position requires continuous work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals and involves frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling. Weekend and/or holiday work may be required.

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
• Repair all production equipment as needed
• Perform breakdown analysis
• Perform general housekeeping
• Upgrade production lines with new equipment or technology
• Work with outside contractors on assigned line
• Adjust line for package changeovers
• Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards
• Work independently under limited supervision (self-management)
• Document work schedule and tasks completed

• 18 years old or older
• Pass a technical assessment covering job‑critical maintenance knowledge areas
• Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings)
• Experience with product manuals and applying knowledge to make repairs
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing)
• Experience reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics)

• Basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, relays)
• Compressors/ammonia systems (e.g., refrigeration)
• Conveyors and airveyors (cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls)
• Electrical system installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting
• Electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs)
• Rebuilding gear boxes, ordering parts, machining parts
• Hydraulic systems (high‑pressure cylinders, pumps, valves)
• Kinematics (line speed/sprocket size ratios)
• Packaging/high‑speed production (e.g., bottling, consumer products)
• PLC (industrial maintenance, computer control systems)
• Pneumatics (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes)
• Preventative maintenance (computerized charts/data)
• Pumps (troubleshooting, seal/mootor replacement, specs)
• Schematics (electrical blueprints)
• Servo systems (robotic motors, encoders)
• Diagnostics and problem solving
• Team‑based environments (collaboration with others)
