Grade - 4 The Inspector located in Wolcott, IN reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for inspecting, setting and adjusting any pressure / temperature controls and/or incoming parts / materials at quality control workstations. The Inspector will use vacuum, pressure, temperature and electrical gauges and controls for the different types of instruments, as well as micrometers, calipers, and fixed / variable gauges for parts checking.

  • Perform inspection as assigned by the QC Leader. Use print or specification book as a reference for work assigned.
  • Check instrument or control for operating parameters. As needed, make minor part adjustments or return parts to the prior work area for more extensive rework. Notify the QC Leader of any recurring problems.
  • Use electrical instruments, meters, and other gauges to test the performance of the devices, as assigned.
  • Inspect incoming parts and materials per established procedures.
  • Completed conforming units may need to be moved from inspection to finished goods, shipping, or other areas. Nonconforming units need to be segregated and returned to the prior work area.
  • Record information for work completed.
  • Follow prescribed part handling procedures to eliminate possible damage.
  • Clean up the immediate work area.

Requirements

Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:

  • Requires ability to read prints and specs.
  • Must attain proficiency on assigned tasks within twelve to eighteen months.
  • Move from station to station for work assigned.
  • Some dexterity is necessary as to set and make repairs to units.
