Welder Fabricator - Division 8 Hollow Metal

The Hollow Metal Welder/Fabricator will work collaboratively with internal teams to fabricate and weld hollow metal doors, frames, and other related products. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, skilled in welding and metal fabrication. This person will use their expertise to ensure high-quality products that meet industry specifications.

Responsibilities
:

• Fabricate and weld hollow metal doors, frames, and related products according to project specifications and Division 8 standards.
• Weld 16-gauge cold rolled steel and 14-gauge galvanized steel.
• Read and interpret work orders to determine appropriate welding and fabrication methods.
• Finish grind and paint products.
• Correctly use industry tools: saws, grinders, sanders, screw guns.
• Ensure all work meets the required safety standards and follows best practices in welding and metal fabrication.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless workflow and project execution.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Conduct quality control checks on completed work to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and supplies used.
• Participate in training and development activities to stay current with industry standards and new technologies.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
• Check in items when received and mark job name.
• Keep work area clean and organized.

Required Experience/Skills
:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and hardware templates.
• Effective communication skills.
• Self-motivated work ethic without the need for direct supervision.
• Exemplify positive attitude, safety, and professionalism.
• Dependable and responsible.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
• Familiarity with industry safety regulations (OSHA requirements).

Preferred Experience/Skills
:

• Technical certification in welding or metal fabrication.
• Forklift experience is a bonus.
• Relevant experience in welding and metal fabrication, preferably in the construction or Division 8 industry.
• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
