DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Team member must be able to work in a team‑oriented and safety‑conscious environment. "Safety First" expectations.
- Participation in company safety programs, safety inspections, safety observations, and JSA risk assessments as required.
- Reads and interprets common engineering drawings, specification documentation, and machinery manuals.
- Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and adjusts electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Has basic familiarity with the requirements of the NEC (National Electrical Codes) as they pertain to the facility.
- Performs all prescribed preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Performs basic calibration procedures on various pieces of equipment throughout the facility.
- Troubleshoots and corrects electronic instrumentation problems with devices such as thermocouples, motor tachometers, temperature controllers, and pressure transducers.
- Supports the production operation by providing an immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime.
- Communicates with co‑workers and individuals from other departments to better understand problems and issues.
- Accurately interprets colors.
- Repairs and troubleshoots machinery and equipment used in the production of padded polystyrene trays, including thermoforming, padding, and extrusion equipment.
- Operates safely all related shop equipment.
- Operates forklifts and yard equipment.
- Maintains high standards of competent craftsmanship and professionalism in terms of quality, proficiency, efficiency, and material utilization.
- Conducts food safety and defense self‑inspections and reports on deficiencies.
- Performs other duties as prescribed by supervisors or management.
- Education/
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of industrial experience in an electrical and mechanical environment. - Preferable qualification:
Satisfactory completion of a trades program or a two‑year (2) associate’s degree. - Language Ability:
Must have excellent communication skills. - Math Ability:
Proficient mathematical skills. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to systematically work through problems, and to meet deadlines individually or as part of a team. - Computer
Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite. - Travel Requirements:
Negligible. - Other certifications and licenses:
Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC), human machine interface (HMI), and motor drives; proficiency in the use of electrical multimeters.
Our third shift schedule begins at 11:00 pm and ends at 7:00 am.
