Vestis Corporation invites applicants for the Operator Iron position in an industrial laundry facility located in Indianapolis, IN. The role emphasizes safe, efficient, and accurate handling of merchandise with a strong focus on teamwork and quality assurance.

Perform work as part of a team responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and out of the laundry facility.

• Stage and feed merchandise (towels, napkins, table clothes, aprons, etc.) onto the ironer properly to reduce wrinkling and tangling.
• Receive and fold merchandise from the ironer.
• Identify and segregate merchandise not meeting specified quality standards in terms of rips, tears, holes, and stains.
• Accurately verify merchandise quantity and bundle by type.
• Place bundles in correct storage carts.
• Maneuver full and empty carts.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, observing best practices in all production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule; shift work may include weekends.
• Overtime required as needed.

• Work is performed in a warehouse setting with exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise.
• Position involves repetitive motions over the entire shift; bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, lifting, standing, and walking for long periods.
• Requires pushing carts weighing approximately 300 lbs.
