Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Craft precision components. Own the setup. Deliver the spec.
  • Be an expert conventional machinist who can work without supervision and hit exacting technical specifications and production standards. If you’re fluent in prints, confident at the lathe and mill, and meticulous with metrology, this is your arena.
  • Produce precision metal components by cutting, drilling, milling, boring, and broaching per work orders, blueprints, drawings, templates, and layouts.
  • Independently set up and run manual lathes; change chucks, indicate work, and adjust tooling.
  • Set machine heads and sweep mill tables; configure accessories and attachments (arbors, adaptors, collets, vices, circular tables, indexing heads, tail stocks, and vertical milling attachments).
  • Perform OD/, tapping, threading, reaming; execute face, angular, form, straddle, and gang milling.
  • Apply indexing methods—direct, plain/simple, compound, differential, and angular—and work through numerical indexing problems.
  • Read mechanical drawings and technical documentation; coordinate and oversee complex sequences of machining operations.
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, comparators) to verify tolerances.
  • Exhibit precision, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving ability; leverage strong knowledge of machine tools and machining operations.
Must-have background
  • 2–5 years of manual machining experience.
  • Better-than-average math skills.
  • Related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in manual machining skills.
Preferred credentials
  • Sandvik Coromant Academy Metal Cutting Technology or equivalent.
  • NMIS certifications for machine technologies or equivalent education.
