Position: Weekends Only Day Shift Production Supervisor
Location: Indianapolis

Position Summary

The Weekend Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations during the weekend day shift. This role ensures that safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals are consistently achieved while fostering a culture of people-focused leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership through empathy, clear communication, and a commitment to developing high-performing teams that are both goal-oriented and deeply engaged.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency objectives are met
  • Lead, motivate, and support production teams to achieve production schedules and optimize performance.
  • Coordinate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations and prompt resolution of production issues.
  • Monitor production KPIs, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and root-cause analysis methods.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in new product introductions (NPI) and process qualification activities.
  • Support the implementation of production plans, staffing requirements, and equipment utilization strategies to meet demand.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to build technical capability, engagement, and a strong culture of ownership.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports, including material usage, downtime, and productivity metrics.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements, equipment upgrades, and layout changes to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, organization, and cleanliness of production areas in alignment with 5S and workplace organization standards.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that emphasizes safety, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain high-performing teams.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems preferred.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly evolving advanced manufacturing environment.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Experience in solar, semiconductor, or other advanced manufacturing industries preferred.
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems preferred.
