This Production Manager role is ideal for an experienced leader from a heavy manufacturing or metal processing environment who is comfortable owning production performance, developing teams, and driving operational improvements.

This position oversees daily production operations across multiple departments, with responsibility for safety, staffing, scheduling, quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Lead and manage day-to-day production operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time output
• Ensure proper staffing levels, training, and cross‑training across production departments
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members while driving accountability and performance
• Champion safety initiatives and partner with Engineering and Safety to identify and mitigate hazards
• Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, quality, scrap reduction, and cost control
• Ensure production processes, standard work, and operating procedures are current and consistently followed
• Maintain and support quality system requirements within production operations
• Identify, investigate, and reduce scrap through root cause analysis and corrective action
• Lead or support corrective action activities related to production and process issues
• Support new and existing product launches, including proper sampling and first‑time‑right execution
• Assist in planning and prioritizing capital improvement projects
• Participate in internal and external audits related to production and quality systems
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions and retraining are completed
• Communicate production performance, issues, and improvement plans to leadership
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Metallurgy, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent production leadership experience
• 5–7+ years of progressive experience in heavy manufacturing or metal processing environments, including leadership of production teams
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams
• Hands‑on, floor‑focused management style with strong safety and quality orientation
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality system implementation
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and continuous improvement skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally
• Self‑directed, results‑driven, and comfortable operating with minimal supervision
