The Quality Technician will be instrumental in maintaining product excellence by conducting thorough testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities- Develop and construct quality assurance test plans based on product specifications and requirements.
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products using various testing devices and procedures.
- Collect, measure, and weigh samples of materials in accordance with established sampling plans.
- Conduct analytical tests on samples using instrumentation and equipment, interpreting results to assess factors such as purity, particle size, and hardness.
- Apply arithmetic formulas and statistical methods to analyze test data and evaluate product quality.
- Document and report test results accurately and promptly, maintaining comprehensive records of all tests conducted.
- Collaborate closely with production teams and other departments to perform and validate tests, ensuring adherence to predetermined quality guidelines.
- Recommend changes to quality guidelines based on test results and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Implement quality control procedures and protocols to meet regulatory standards and customer specifications.
- Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards, testing methods, and procedures.
- Proficient in conducting analytical tests using various testing devices and instrumentation.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to apply arithmetic formulas and statistical methods for data analysis.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Familiarity with quality control standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of testing equipment is advantageous.
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience in manufacturing
- Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance within a fabrication or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Travel will be required to attend training and meetings.
- Ability to sit or stand for the entire shift
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
- Ability to lift, frequently, at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.
