As a Welder I at Wood-Mizer, you will measure, weld, cut and sand metal pieces and products using MIG welding equipment, following Wood-Mizer’s required specifications.

• Weld all common types and sizes of steel.
• Weld in all positions with a steady hand.
• Set any power supply to weld any size or thickness of steel.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts and various hand and air tools as required.
• Clean weld spatter and grind parts to print specifications.
• Take an active part in a Continuous Improvement work environment.
• Follow all Wood-Mizer rules, policies and procedures, including the code of conduct and safety regulations.
• Arrive on time and follow Wood-Mizer’s attendance policies.
• Work well with coworkers and help keep a positive team environment.
• Act professionally and treat coworkers with respect.
• Finish assigned tasks on time and meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–3 years of welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and weld symbols
• Ability to set any power supply to weld and tell whether the fusion is correct
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic math skills related to welding assignments

Preferred:

• Welding certification
• Trade school certificate or vocational/technical college training
