Position Purpose

The Campaign Director serves as the functional leader for campaign-related activities at Riley Children’s Foundation. This includes driving progress on Every Child Deserves Riley— the most ambitious campaign in the Foundation’s history— while ensuring the organization is positioned for long-term success through rigorous post-campaign analysis and future campaign planning. This role provides organizational leadership to drive accountability for campaign objectives, maintain strategic visibility across departments, and ensure operational excellence through cross-functional leadership and collaboration.

Working closely with senior leaders, the Campaign Director manages timelines and milestones, engages volunteer leadership, and delivers insights that inform strategies and future initiatives. This position leads through influence and collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities 1. Campaign Planning
  • Collaborate with the Chief Campaign Strategy and Communications Officer to develop and implement comprehensive campaign plans, including milestones, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Serve as the functional leader ensuring campaign priorities are integrated across Development, Communications, Donor Engagement, Finance, and Data Analytics.
  • Monitor progress against campaign goals and timelines; identify risks and recommend adjustments to maintain momentum.
  • Act as a primary liaison with external consultants, ensuring productive engagements and clear deliverables.
2. Campaign Volunteer Management
  • Serve as a strategic partner to campaign volunteer leaders, ensuring they are equipped and empowered to advance campaign objectives.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and strategic follow-up on donor referrals from campaign volunteers, partnering closely with gift officers to maintain clear communication with volunteers, track and report progress, and support strategy development.
  • Design high-impact agendas and action plans for volunteer committees that drive accountability and meaningful progress.
  • Provide volunteer leadership with comprehensive progress reports, including cultivation and solicitation efforts, dollars raised, and engagement metrics.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a central point of contact for campaign policies, procedures, and updates across the organization.
  • Lead oversight of progress on high-value prospects in partnership with Development by maintaining visibility into prospect status and driving accountability to ensure moves management.
  • Partner with Communications and Donor Engagement teams to plan and execute high-impact campaign events, high-touch donor experiences, and community engagement strategies; optimize donor communications and stewardship strategies; and ensure timely creation of compelling campaign-related materials.
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Data Analytics team to define and achieve reporting needs, interpret data, and ensure dashboards and tools are actively used to inform decisions.
4. Administrative:
  • Meetings
    :
    Prepare for and actively participate in Riley Children’s Foundation meetings as appropriate. Ensure expectations and tools for meeting agendas and follow-up are
  • Budget
    :
    Support budget development and monitoring for campaign-related activities.
  • Technology
    :
    Understand and effectively use the technology available at Riley Children’s Foundation.
  • Compliance
    :
    Ensure strict compliance with all Foundation policies, as well as local, state and federal laws that govern business
5. Other Duties as Assigned
  • Participate in Riley Children’s Foundation Events as necessary.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.

  • Education
    :
    Bachelor’s degree in communications, fundraising, marketing or relevant field required.
  • Experience
    :
    Minimum 5-8 years of donor engagement, fundraising, customer experience or communications experience with 3 to 5 years of people management experience.
