Volunteer Fundraiser – Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising

Platform for Labour Action (PLA) International is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit dedicated to equitable and sustainable development in the United States and Uganda. We are seeking a volunteer Fundraiser to drive critical funding and develop strategic partnerships for our projects.

The Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising Volunteer will actively engage a diverse network of funders and stakeholders, identify funding opportunities, write grant proposals, and foster long‑term relationships that align with PLA International’s mission. The role may evolve into a paid position based on fundraising success and future commission opportunities.

• Research and identify potential funding opportunities, including grants, foundations, and individual donors.
• Develop and write compelling grant proposals tailored to specific funding opportunities and project needs.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential partners, including organizations, businesses, and individuals.
• Assist in fundraising efforts for both U.S. and Ugandan projects, developing distinct strategies for each entity.
• Secure funding for specific projects, such as research and the development of the training and skilling center in Uganda.
• Collaborate with team members on comprehensive fundraising plans and initiatives.
• Work with the communications team to showcase fundraising campaign successes and donor contributions.

• Experience in grant research and identification of funding opportunities.
• Proven ability in grant writing and developing compelling proposals.
• Demonstrated ability to translate project needs into fundable proposals.
• Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with partners or donors.
• Familiarity with fundraising strategies for domestic and international projects.
