Family Programming Coordinator

Do you love creating programs and environments that support a family’s ability to thrive? The Family Programming Coordinator will be responsible for creating and delivering whole-family programming for Southeast. Programming should be designed to foster opportunities for families to engage with other services that Southeast provides, encourage long-term relationship building, and provide enrichment activities and resources for children to encourage them to reach their full potential.
The coordinator will also promote Southeast services to our school and community partners in the neighborhood.
The mission of Southeast is to “work together to serve, strengthen, and support our neighbors in southeast Indianapolis.” As a Center for Working Families, we offer bundled coaching in financial empowerment, education and employment, access to essential resources like food, and help navigating public benefits. This holistic, trauma-informed model supports the whole person—and the whole family—so neighbors can move forward with confidence in all areas of life.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development & Implementation
- Create and deliver programming that will foster whole family learning and goal attainment
- Develop and host engagement opportunities and programming for SECS families,
- Continually evaluate effectiveness of programs via exit surveys, conversation w/ families, etc.
- Serve as a resource and navigator for families participating in 2
Gen programming - Advocate to eliminate barriers to service, reduce potential for harm and provide more immediate access to services
Outreach & Partnership Building
- Conduct outreach to broaden awareness of SECS services and supports
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with neighborhood schools and other relevant partners
- Be the SECS liaison with school staff and SECS coaches/staff
Data & Documentation
- Work with leadership to ensure accurate data is captured and recorded for grant reporting
- Provide quantitative data and storytelling for family programming
- Produce accurate, thorough, and timely documentation to maintain best practices and meet grant reporting requirements
Budgeting
- Assist in developing and managing program budget
- Ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability of all family programming

Preferred Skills
- Prior experience working in 2
Gen programming - Track record of creating and facilitating workshops, trainings, tutoring, or community education programs
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish highly valued)
Work Environment
- There will be some instances when work in the evening or weekends may be required; work hours will be adjusted accordingly when this occurs
- SECS offers the opportunity to flex time when approved by supervisor
- Work from home is not a regular part of our culture; however, special circumstances will be considered.
