Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring Cerner experience and a strong background in urology.

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit specializing in patients with urologic, plastic surgery, orthopedic oncology, and surgical oncology diagnoses
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
• Travelers may be required to float between Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU units at both University and Methodist hospitals, with resources provided
• Unit utilizes Cerner for charting and EMR documentation
• Special procedures include continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and hand irrigations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All travelers are expected to float within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• RTO requests of up to 5 days can be auto-approved
• Local candidates are not accepted for Med/Surg, Med/Surg Tele, PCU, ICU, and ER positions

• Active IN or Compact RN license must be in hand at the time of consideration
• Current BCLS certification from AHA or RQI
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Strong urology skillset and IV start competency required
• Demonstrated proficiency in Cerner charting
• Returning employees or PRNs must have a 12-month break before reapplying as a traveler
