Registered Nurse – General Surgery – Ambulatory

Join Indiana University Health as a Registered Nurse in General Surgery – Ambulatory. Full‑time day shift (Mon‑Fri 8:00 am–5:00 pm) located in Fort Wayne, IN. This position is eligible for a $30,000 sign‑on bonus for part‑time and full‑time roles.

Overview

IU Health seeks experienced RNs who will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high‑quality surgical bedside care. The role offers opportunities to develop clinical expertise and advance your nursing career while supporting your professional goals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide surgical bedside care on the day of surgery.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Assess patients before, during, and after surgery, including through face‑to‑face and remote evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and institutional patient‑care standards.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient charts.
Qualifications
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required;
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or NLC RN license.
  • Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA). Additional advanced life‑support certifications may be required.
  • Previous surgical nursing experience.
  • Ability to work full time Monday‑Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm; no weekends or holidays.
