New opportunity! Ball Memorial's Inpatient Behavioral Unit nursing team will begin also staffing the behavioral health side of the Emergency Department. Behavioral health nurses will not be taking care of true emergency patients, the RN will be taking care of the behavioral health patients, once medically clear, and until they are admitted, transferred, discharged.

On the Inpatient Behavioral Unit, we use a team approach. Our care team specializes in the care of the acutely ill patients experiencing mental health crises, which entails stabilizing and connecting patients with outpatient community resources. We pride ourselves on our strong teamwork and high‑quality care we provide to our patients and their families. We value professional growth and expertise. Qualifications
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
    Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Education:

    The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
    • Exceptions:
      Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
