ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Indiana or compact state

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred)

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)

• Proficient in comprehensive assessment and care of hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients

• Strong neurological assessment skills

• Ability to float to other inpatient nursing units as needed

• Preferred:

Experience with Pupillometer, EVD, ICP waveform management, CRRT, and Epic EMR

• Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and compassionate patient care
ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill neuro patients in the Neuro ICU

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor neurological status

• Manage care for patients using advanced equipment:
Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

• Float to other inpatient units as required by hospital needs

• Participate in orientation and ongoing training, including Epic EMR

• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and uphold patient safety standards
