American Traveler is hiring a PICU Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment requiring BLS, PALS, and 18 months of pediatric ICU experience.
Details- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit setting within a children's hospital
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- 13-week assignment with required holiday coverage
- Floating required to other units within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals
- Cerner charting system used
- Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of PICU experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
- Experience caring for ventilated respiratory patients
- Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and emergency medication administration
- Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- 2 supervisor references required
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers with 12 months of prior IU Health travel employment must complete a required break period before starting a new assignment
