Description

Groundskeeper reports to and takes direction from the Grounds Supervisor. Responsible for cleanliness and maintaining grounds and landscapes.

The Groundskeeper will perform the following tasks:

  • Perform mowing, trimming, pruning, watering, and spray operations of grass, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs at all properties managed by the Building Authority.
  • Assist in planting annual flowers, trees, and shrubs. Spread mulch in and around all beds.
  • Assist in snow removal, ice removal, and salt spreading, parking lot and walkways.
  • Assist with irrigation system maintenance.
  • Comply with EPA chemical application regulations and Building Authority’s policies procedures and safety regulations.
  • Driving to different properties that are managed by the Building Authority, with lawn care equipment in tow.
  • Perform Maintenance as well as Preventative Maintenance on the pumps and fountains.
  • Use a wetsuit to enter and work in water up to 5 feet deep.
  • Remove graffiti/counteract vandalism, including removing items from Canal waters.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Grounds Supervisor.

Equipment used:
The Groundskeeper should be familiar with various equipment and tools including lawncare equipment, pesticides, PPE safety equipment, mowers, and trimmers.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work well with others, including other employees, Grounds Supervisors, outside vendors, contractors, and customers.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (snow removal, vehicle breakdown).
  • Valid Indiana State Driver’s license.
  • 3 Years of Landscaping knowledge and prior experience.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Ability to perform basic Maintenance Equipment Repair.
  • Familiarity with CMMS Software/Computers.
