We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic plant engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, planning, and implementing key projects that upgrade, modify, and improve our production and facility equipment. Your work will directly impact plant profitability, efficiency, and safety by ensuring our electrical and control systems operate at their peak.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management:
    Manage electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet design parameters, budget, and installation schedules.
  • System Design & Upgrades:
    Engineer and implement electrical upgrades for magnet wire production equipment, including control panels, PLCs, AC/DC drives, HMI systems, and process monitoring networks.
  • Technical Support:
    Serve as a key technical resource for the Maintenance Department, providing expert troubleshooting for complex electrical, electronic, and control system issues.
  • Programming & Design:
    Develop and modify programs for PLCs (primarily Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and other industrial automation systems. Utilize AutoCAD for schematics and panel designs.
  • Procurement & Cost Control:
    Research, cost-justify, and submit work orders and appropriation requests (R/As). Manage the procurement of materials and equipment for assigned projects.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    Ensure all engineering designs and projects adhere to relevant electrical codes and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Actively support the plant's safety program.
  • Capital Planning:
    Recommend and help justify capital expenditures to advance plant and corporate goals.
Qualifications & Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or an Associate's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in industrial power distribution and a strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, etc.).
  • Hands‑on proficiency with PLC logic design and troubleshooting, with specific expertise in Allen‑Bradley (RSLogix 500, 5000, Studio 5000).
  • Demonstrated experience programming and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) across multiple brands.
  • Proficiency in HMI design and programming (e.g., Factory Talk View, C‑More, Siemens).
  • Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Have)
  • Six‑Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Yellow Belt).
  • Experience with Siemens Step‑7.
  • Direct experience in the magnet wire industry or a similar continuous process manufacturing environment.
