The Role We Want You For
As an MEP Superintendent, you will be based on the construction project site and will be responsible for field operations and onsite construction management of design-build construction projects, specifically quality control for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, construction, start up, and testing on highly complex projects nationwide.
The Specifics of the Role
- Coordinate with preconstruction, design, engineering, procurement, operations, safety, quality, and all other project site management team members to ensure adequate project resources.
- Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of MEP/FP subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage MEP/FP related materials, systems, and shop drawings submittals.
- Handle MEP/FP RFIs, field changes, and other field engineering items.
- Oversee MEP/FP Quality Control, Start-up and Energization, Pre-Functional Checklists, and Functional Performance Testing.
- Responsible for MEP Systems scopes including:
- Plumbing Systems (DWV, Storm, Domestic Water, etc.), Medical & Natural Gas Systems
- Energy and Fuel-Oil Systems
- Compressed-Air & Vacuum Systems
- HVAC systems
- Building Controls and Integration
- Geothermal Energy Systems
- Steam and Condensate Systems
- Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing for HVAC
- Electrical Distribution Systems (Low and Medium Voltage)
- Lighting and Controls
- Power Generation, UPS, Surge Protection
- Communication, Safety, and Security Systems
- Site Utilities and Infrastructure
B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent trade experience with progression to management levels. 10+ years of experience in highly technical commercial/industrial construction, preferably with design-build experience on projects over $10 million. Ability to supervise construction teams, maintain safety and quality standards, and travel or relocate as needed. Must be physically capable of walking job sites, climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lifting objects at least 60 lbs.
