About the Opportunity

This is an open position with the First Energy Service Company, a subsidiary of First Energy Corp.

The Supervisor’s position would be out of the Johnstown, PA service center but can also be sited at DuBois, Kittaning, Indiana, Butler and Arnold, PA.

Responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
  • Accountable for directing and coordinating warehousing and distribution activities within the assigned geographic region.
  • Resolving material control system problems, interface with district stores and ensure warehouse activities are done per process.
  • Monitoring employees and enforcing conformance to established work practices, rules and procedures.
  • Implementing instructions and training of employees.
  • Coordinating work with other departments and sections.
  • Monitoring and documenting work habits of employees in adherence to labor agreements.
  • Assist in materials layout and design at job site and monitor equipment utilization.
  • Interfacing with customers regarding inventory management.
  • May be required to manage a non-company warehouse if required for emergencies or other peaks.
  • Directing and overseeing material inspections, storage, cycle counting, issuing, picking/packing, inventory accuracy and general housekeeping.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, both internal and external, to ensure sound business relationships.
  • Providing regional material support during emergency/storm situations, along with supporting the company storm process which may require extended or irregular hours.
  • Providing regional materials on a 24/7 basis.
  • Travel to multiple job site locations to receive deliveries, track materials, manage paperwork and oversee operations.
  • Performing other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. In lieu of a degree, High School Diploma (or GED) along with a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a leadership role or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Experience in warehousing and materials management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of transmission and substation materials is a plus.
  • Ability to evaluate bill of materials and forecast material needs a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of SAP, CREWS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow, work across First Energy, deliver results and supervise others.
  • Ability to comprehend the company’s Accident Prevention Handbook and apply it to safety in the workplace.
  • Working knowledge of bargaining unit agreements and/or working with bargaining unit employees is preferred.
  • Self starter who works well independently as well as in a team environment and can multi-task while prioritizing daily workload.
  • Ability to make timely decisions that utilize available material and resources in a cost effective manner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency at planning and scheduling work.
  • Ability to lead a team in order to achieve company business objectives and goals.
  • Tracking and maintaining accurate and proper paperwork.
  • Ability to work extra and irregular hours.
