Primary
Purpose:
The Executive Director serves as the primary representative of Leadership LaPorte County, responsible for advancing community leadership development, ensuring organizational sustainability through fund development, and managing leadership program operations. This position requires a commitment of 35 to 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance:
- Implement the organization’s mission, strategic goals, and annual objectives.
- Collaborate with the Board Chair to support board governance and engagement.
- Facilitate board meetings, retreats, and communication.
Program Oversight:
- Design and manage adult, youth, and high school leadership programs.
- Plan sessions, coordinate speakers and logistics, and facilitate all program activities.
- Promote programs via social media and public relations.
- Oversee grant compliance and reporting.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and tax filings.
- Ensure adherence to nonprofit financial and operational policies.
- Assist in annual budget creation and monitoring.
- Lead all fundraising and donor engagement efforts.
- Coordinate events and cultivate partnerships for long-term support.
Human Resources:
- Supervise support staff and monitor compliance with HR policies.
- Maintain workers’ compensation and insurance documentation.
Community Engagement, Marketing & Public Relations:
- Act as spokesperson and representative at community events and in media.
- Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders and collaborators.
- Act as spokesperson and representative at community events and in media. This may require after business hours events.
- Website management, e-newsletter and event coordination/promotion.
Additional Responsibilities:
- All other tasks as required by Leadership LaPorte County Board of Directors.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple programs and projects independently.
- Knowledge of leadership development and nonprofit operations.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and nonprofit management preferred.
- Familiarity with board governance and community engagement.
- Applicant must reside in LaPorte County.
