Position: Full Time Veterinarian In 10 Dr. Northern Indiana Group Practice

10 Dr. Mixed/Companion animal Practice.

We have an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian with experience or qualified recent grad. This mixed/companion animal practice position offers associate veterinarians an average earning of over $220,000, a work schedule of less than 4.5 days per week, and ample time off for personal interests and family.

Mixed Practice – 70% Small Animal / 30% Equine.

  • 4.2 day average work week.
  • Rotating 7‑week schedule with equal share on call; 1 Sunday on in 7 weeks. 5 weekdays off in 6 weeks, one 4‑day long weekend off in 7 weeks, and one 3‑day weekend in 7 weeks. Work in rotating emergency call with duty schedule known 1 year in advance – flexible trade and vacation options.
  • Two weeks vacation within the first year. Three weeks vacation from the end of the first year to the beginning of the fifth year, then 4 weeks vacation per year – all paid.
  • Continuing education required – practice will pay $2,500 per year.
  • Expected earnings $150,000–$170,000 in the first year. Pay structure: 40% of total gross paid including drugs dispensed for large animal, 32% of total gross paid for small animal, 40% of total gross paid for small animal emergency; weekly safety‑net base salary ($90,000 per year) plus monthly incentive bonus.
  • Vehicle expense – doctors drive what they like, cell phone/computer expense provided, with a tax‑free check of $900 per month.
  • AVMA practice liability insurance.
  • Equipment & Facilities: DR Digital Radiography units, shock wave therapy unit, lasers, thermography camera, digital ultrasounds (5), 3 tendon ultrasounds, wireless camera endoscope, EKG, equine collection and AI equipment, cryo unit, arthroscopic surgery unit, power floats, etc.; full in‑house lab equipment; 5 exam rooms, treatment & x‑ray room; surgery center; three kennel rooms; isolation room; offices; staff lunch lounge; lab; shared facility for meetings, lunch & learn, and extern housing.

    Phone system provides LA, SA, lab & medication and billing choices; answer service screens calls to reduce unnecessary night emergencies; phones shut off 9 pm until 8 am. Emergency hours limited to 5 pm–9 pm.

    Retirement & Other Benefits: SIRA retirement plan with corporate matching; health insurance; vehicle, phone and computer expense; tax‑free monthly check; one‑time $1,000 computer allowance. Fringe benefits approximate $20,000+ per year; new grads have made over $180,000 before fringes in the first full year; experienced associates $300,000+.

Elkhart, Goshen, Mishawaka, and South Bend are minutes away and Chicagoland is a hundred quick miles down the road. Elkhart county’s recreational vehicle industry and fertile agricultural area make our economy one of the hottest in the nation.

    The concentration of the equine industry is amazing due to the surrounding Amish community as well as an abundance of pleasure, performance, draft, and racing clients. Our practice area includes the #2 and #6 most horse‑populated counties in the nation. Small animal clients from the area keep our clinic staff of doctors, technicians, and support team busy providing medical services and surgery.

    The position open is essentially 70/30 SA/Equine. Our doctors have over 150 years of practice experience, ensuring plenty of mentoring and an unselfish team approach to veterinary practice.
