About the Role

A leading manufacturing operation in North Vernon, IN is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the plant’s quality assurance function and ensure full compliance with IATF 16949 standards. This position oversees the entire quality program—from incoming materials to finished goods—and is responsible for developing technical staff, managing documentation and audits, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, capable of working effectively across all levels of the organization and resolving complex quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team.
  • Ensure quality requirements and policies are represented in all daily operational decisions.
  • Direct the Quality Assurance Program from incoming material inspections through finished goods inventory.
  • Maintain ownership of plant SOPs and work instructions related to quality.
  • Oversee customer complaint resolution and manage corrective actions with weekly 8D reviews.
  • Optimize use of quality workforce, systems, and equipment to meet organizational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
  • Maintain systems to control non-conforming material and cost-of-poor-quality reporting.
  • Manage audit schedules and all quality documentation within IATF 16949 requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or materials environment.
  • 5–7+ years of quality assurance and/or engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a union environment.
  • Familiarity with Plexus ERP.
  • Background in material science or metallurgy.
  • Professional certifications such as:
  • Quality Auditor
  • Quality Engineer
  • Quality Manager
  • Shainin
