Supervises all Quality Control technicians at multiple plant locations. The Quality Supervisor provides leadership and guidance for the department, works to improve core processes, and manages projects. They accept ownership of ensuring staff is developed in all quality assurance functions and develop a clear understanding of business and technical aspects to support the organization.

Position Overview

The Quality Supervisor provides leadership and guidance for the department, works to improve core processes, and manages projects. They ensure staff development in all quality assurance functions and support the organization by understanding business and technical aspects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Exhibit strong communication and problem‑solving skills while leading the Quality department towards company goals and objectives.
  • Identify areas of continuous improvement within the quality department and in the Quality Management System.
  • Provide development and training for the Quality team and other departments; develop goals based on company objectives and ensure achievement.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System for compliance with customer, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, local, state, and federal requirements and ensure continual review and improvement.
  • Manage the internal audit system, ensuring timely completion of audits and submission of findings and corrective action requests to management. Oversee supplier audits and participate as part of audit teams.
  • Ensure monthly metric data entry and review of cost‑of‑quality information is completed timely. Evaluate current data and trends to suggest improvement ideas or corrective actions with a cross‑functional team.
  • Champion scrap reduction efforts as a collaborative effort with other departments.
  • Participate in new product gate reviews and review all new jobs for proper documentation, ensuring customers’ needs are addressed and identifying gauging needs for new and existing work.
  • Work with customers on deviation approvals for dimensional and cosmetic issues, discuss possible engineering changes to improve part manufacturability, and address concerns on shipping preservation or part quality.
  • Assist in timely completion of part quality documentation requirements, including ballooned drawings, inspection check sheets, SPC charts, process flow diagrams, PFMEA, process control plans, dimensional layout requirements, part submission warrants, capability studies, and measurement system analysis.
  • Improve Statistical Process Control activities and ensure data analysis identifies possible process improvements.
  • Assist with all quality tasks as needed, including CMM programming.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School, GED, or equivalent (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of experience preferred.
Experience
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
  • 5–7 years of experience in quality assurance.
  • Moderate to strong experience with data entry and requisite software packages.
Skills
  • Knowledge of CMM programming, use and supporting software preferred.
  • Knowledge of APQP requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of gauging methodology and metrology preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19001 and IATF 16949 requirements preferred.
