Overview
Responsible for overseeing and documenting all inmate property in the Adult Detention Center. This includes storing and releasing all inmate personal property, documenting all inmate property into OMS, handling jail-issued items, and coordinating the release of inmate property to the public. Verifying that the property bin number where the property is stored is documented in OMS correctly and that the corresponding bin in OMS is released when property is removed.
Disposing of inmate DOC property and documenting in OMS. Responsibilities also include retrieving disposed DOC inmate clothing for washing and storage, and organizing and storing cell phones until they are picked up for donation.
- Oversee and document all inmate property in the Adult Detention Center.
- Store and release inmate personal property; document all property in OMS.
- Handle jail-issued items and ensure proper storage.
- Verify property bin numbers are correctly documented in OMS and that bins are released when property is removed.
- Dispose of inmate DOC property and document in OMS.
- Coordinate disposal of DOC inmate clothing for washing and storage.
- Organize and store cell phones until donation pick-up.
- Verify that all property release forms are filled out correctly.
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).
- No felony/battery convictions.
- Strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to maintain professional composure during conflict and when dealing with irrational subjects.
- Ability to navigate and work within computer applications.
- Comfort with handling standard office equipment, audio communications (speaker and radio), and video control equipment.
- Must be able to work independently under limited supervision.
- Civilian Employees shall have their principal place of residence within the boundaries of Marion County within six months of employment.
