Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Stark Neurosciences Research Institute

The Dage Lab at IU School of Medicine seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our innovative research team focusing on precision medicine approaches for diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease through discovery of blood-based biomarkers.

Position funded by Alzheimer’s Disease and Aging Cohort Consortium (ADACC) U24 grant, involving cutting-edge research on Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. Primary goal: establish a national consortium, the Alzheimer’s Diagnosis in Older Adults with Chronic Conditions (ADACC) Network, dedicated to developing evidence-based strategies for the use and implementation of biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) in older patients with multiple chronic conditions and cognitive impairment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct research on blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
  • Collaborate with clinical, imaging, biomarker, and genetics data across multiple studies.
  • Apply biostatistical methods to cross-sectional and longitudinal data sets.
  • Publish findings and present at scientific meetings.
Qualifications
  • MD/PhD or PhD in Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or related field.
  • Prior experience in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia research highly desirable.
  • Strong statistical data analysis background.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • Experience with biomarker assay discovery, multi-omics approaches (proteomics, genomics, metabolomics) preferred.
