Job Overview

As a Field Merchandiser, you’ll work independently to showcase your organization and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark at participating stores. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, and support teammates during seasonal resets and installations when needed. Occasionally you may work with products from other companies in the stores you service.

  • Your starting hourly pay rate will be $12.50 – $13.50, depending on skills and experience.
  • Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
  • This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
  • Average weekly hours are between 4 – 11 hours.
  • Availability the week before and after major holidays, including weekends, is required.
Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day engagement:
    Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you’ll restock, organize, and monitor inventory of Hallmark products. Technology is critical for communication with supervisors, reporting time, feedback, and survey completion.
  • Holiday support:
    During peak demand periods (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), you may work additional days and extended hours, including the holiday itself.
  • Department resets:
    You may be assigned to installations—building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting sections. Assignments are typically notified two weeks in advance.
  • Team collaboration:
    As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you’ll support other team members within your network as needed.
Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds (up to 50 pounds on occasion). You will also kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the day, and may climb stairs and step ladders.

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Operable digital handheld device for reading documents and interpreting information.
  • Access to Wi‑Fi and the Internet.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores on schedule.
