Position: Route Sales Representative (Non-CDL)
Location: Indianapolis

Overview

Route Sales Representative – hourly, $21.50 / hour with weekly pay, 5 days a week, 35–45 hours a week.

Chillicothe, OH (servicing Indianapolis area). Department:
Route Sales.

Job Summary

Safely drive a step‑van delivery truck over assigned routes to sell, deliver, merchandise products, and provide excellent customer service to grocery, mass merchandise and independent chain stores.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence.
  • Excellent driving record; no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years; no DUI in past 3 years.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Score 70% or higher on job‑related assessment.
  • Drug test and random drug testing program.
  • English proficiency and strong communication, persuasion and organization skills.
  • Stable work history, good references, sound judgment, ability to adapt quickly and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Demands
  • Constantly reaching; frequently sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, driving and lifting up to 32 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 48 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sell, deliver, stock and merchandise Herr’s brand snack foods to grocery retail and independent chain stores.
  • Build relationships with key decision makers; provide excellent customer service.
  • Inquire about customer needs, communicate product knowledge, suggestive selling.
  • Solicit new accounts, execute company‑sponsored promotional programs and provide credit for stale or damaged items.
  • Process orders using handheld computer; collect cash and process invoices.
  • Manage daily accuracy of product inventory; conduct daily pre‑trip vehicle safety inspection and maintain a clean truck.
