Senior Sales Engineer

DCG Sheet Metal is hiring a
Senior Sales Engineer
in Indianapolis to win and manage industrial dust collection, fume extraction, ventilation, and mechanical projects.
Compensation includes a $100,000 annual base salary, performance-based sales commission, company profit sharing, retirement plan, and healthcare.

We're looking for someone who already sells project work to industrial customers. You know how to get a meeting with a plant engineer or maintenance manager, walk the floor, and turn a production problem into a project the customer will fund. You'll work directly with DCG's ownership and see the work through installation. Our Indianapolis shop fabricates the hoods and ductwork, and our union field crews install the systems you sell.

• Use your industry relationships to open doors, win new accounts, and earn repeat work from manufacturers in Indiana and the surrounding region.
• Walk customer facilities, evaluate the application, and define what the job will take - from equipment selection and duct routing to installation access and shutdown timing.
• Work with suppliers, estimators, and field leads to price the job, write a clear scope, present the proposal, and close the sale.
• Manage awarded projects through completion, including purchasing, budgets, schedules, change orders, and customer communication.

• An established industrial network and a track record of personally finding and closing new business.
• Experience estimating and managing projects that combine equipment, fabrication, and field installation.
• Direct experience in dust collection, fume extraction, or industrial ventilation is strongly preferred. We also welcome candidates who have sold and delivered comparable industrial mechanical or sheet metal projects.
• The ability to lead a customer site visit independently and work closely with the people who will build and install what you sell. An engineering degree is welcome; equivalent industry experience is valued.

This is a full-time, Indianapolis-based position with regional travel to customer facilities.
